Due to the demand for Cascade courses, and the volume of pre-course preparation, Cascade Executive Programs must abide by the following cancellation policy:
Cancellations must be received in writing and require a written response from Cascade Executive Programs to be in effect.
More than 21 days prior to a course start date: A registrant may cancel his or her registration and receive a full refund.
Less than 21 days prior to a course start date: Cancellations will be assessed full tuition. Also, you may not transfer to a different course or to the next offering of the same course after the cancellation deadline. You can, however, avoid being assessed the cancellation penalty by substituting a candidate at any time prior to the start date of a course. Any materials received by the canceling participant must be passed to the substitute or an additional fee will be assessed for the provision of additional materials.
If a registrant fails to attend without notification, full tuition is required. Please note that failure to submit payment does not cancel you from the course.
To substitute someone in your place, send a request in writing or via email to Cascade Executive Programs with the following information:
- Full name of substitute
- Title and division
- Work mailing address
- Phone number
- Email address
Substitution requests can be made up until the day of the course, but it is your responsibility to pass on any course materials you have received to the person who will be attending. If materials are not passed on, an additional materials fee will be charged. If the substitution request is made up to 21 days prior to the start date of the course, all course materials will be sent directly to your substitute.
Course transfer requests must be made 21 days prior to the start date of the course and can be made for a different course or a later offering of the same course. Requests made after the 21-day cut off will be assessed full tuition for both the cancelled course and new course. If the tuition is higher in the course you’re transferring to, you will be invoiced for the balance. If the tuition is lower for the course you are transferring to, you can either have the balance refunded or use it as credit toward a future registration.
If the cancellation or course-transfer deadline falls on a holiday or weekend, you should send cancellation requests via email to cascade@u.washington.edu. If this is not possible, be sure to email your cancellation request on the business day prior to the holiday.
If a registrant fails to attend without notification, full tuition is required. Please note that failure to submit payment does not cancel your registration.
If you have to miss some of the course, please notify your nominator and Cascade Executive Programs. In order to maximize the training benefits of Cascade Courses, we strongly encourage participants to attend the entire course. In order to receive verification for a course, a participant must be in attendance at least 80 percent of the course time.
