Benefit-Cost Analysis Center Awarded $200,000 Grant

The Benefit-Cost Analysis Center, with principal investigator Richard O. Zerbe, Jr., was awarded $200,000 from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation for a benefit-cost analysis symposium of about 75 invited experts, practitioners, and policy makers.

About half of the attendees will be comprised of MacArther Foundation grantees conducting social benefit-cost studies as part of the Measuring Social Benefits project or doing work in similar areas.

The aim of the conference, tentatively scheduled for the first week of June in Washington, D.C., is to share ideas about implementation of benefit-cost analysis procedures and institutions, and to create nexuses of connections that will improve institutional creation and implementation.
