Evans School Receives Magnuson Award

The Evans School accepted the 2009 Warren G. Magnuson Memorial Award at the Municipal League of King County's Civic Awards on Wednesday, March 25.  This is the first time the award, which honors significant contributions to the enhancement of local government, has been given to an organization.

Previous Magnuson award winners include Ralph Munro, Helen Sommers, Joel Pritchard, and Bob Santos.  Other 2009 Civic Award winners included Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, Sound Transit CEO Joni Earl, Cary Moon of the People's Waterfront Coalition, and more.  See the full list of 2009 Muncipal League Civic Award winners »

The Magnuson Award was presented by Evans School Visiting Committee Chair Colleen Willoughby.  Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, also a Visiting Committee member, was also honored with the Ellis Award for regional leadership.
