2009 Orientation Schedule for Incoming Students

Master of Public Administration students are expected to attend all of the afternoon orientation events. If for some reason you are not able to attend part of orientation, please contact student services at evansdss@u.washington.edu.  Students are not required to attend Math Camp, but it is highly encouraged.

Monday, September 21

  • 8:00 – 8:30 a.m.:  Pick Up Orientation Packets (Parrington Hall, room 124)
  • 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.:  Student Services & Advising Overview (Kane Hall, room 210)
  • 9:30 – 11 a.m.:  Program Planning, Academic Progress, & Student Handbook (Kane Hall, room 210)
  • 11 – 11:30 a.m.:  Registration & Course Resources (Kane Hall, room 210)
  • Noon – 1 p.m.:  No-Host Lunch   
  • 1:30 – 4 p.m.:  Team Building Event: Budget Ball (IMA Field 1)

Tuesday, September 22

  • 9 a.m. – Noon:  Learning from Each Other: Diversity in the Classroom and in the Profession (Kane Hall, room 210)
  • 12:30 – 3 p.m.:  Welcome Lunch with Evans School Faculty (Don James Center, Husky Stadium)

Wednesday, September 23

  • 9:00 a.m. – Noon: Math Camp (136 KB PDF) (Denny Hall, rooms 206 and 212)
  • 1 – 3 p.m.:  Career Services (Kane Hall, room 120)
  • 3 – 4 p.m.:  Evans School Student Organization & Student Interest Group Welcome (Kane Hall, room 120)
